Some Days, We Are (Always…) In Transition (& Free Virtual Workshop)

I love this time of year.  For many reasons.  One big part of this is that it is a time of transition.  Transition into the cozy months (my favorite).  Pulling close what is most dear to me in a snuggly hibernation.  Back to school energy.  That feeling that a new version of myself might be unfolding with my new class assignment, somehow channeling into this time long after my last school bell rang.  Beginning to reflect on the year coming to a close and the new year ahead.  New beginnings.  Possibility.  My career transitions have always tended to brew around this time.  My big life transitions too.  There’s something about the energy that is charged and powerful.

It is also hard to look around these days without seeing transitions.  We are coming out, of or perhaps still amidst, the “Great Resignation” (or, the “Great Breakup,” as McKinsey’s Women in the Workplace study termed it) and we are experiencing heartbreaking layoffs left and right as we continue to flirt dangerously with a recession.  People are leaving homes and relationships, sometimes by fancy, sometimes by circumstances outside of their control.  What work and travel look like is continuing to evolve.

Maybe you are feeling that first percolation of energy stirring change.  Maybe you are about to embark on something new.  Maybe you are in the midst of your own personal and professional evolution.  Maybe your life, business or career is entering a new phase.  Maybe you have been impacted by the economic downturn.  Maybe you are burned out and not sure what to do about it.  Maybe you can’t shake the feeling that more is possible.  Maybe you long for a different energy.  Or outcome.  Maybe you simply want to embrace the season or the new year with intention.  Reflecting on the year that has passed and all that is to come.

There are so many different kinds of transitions and so many different circumstances surrounding them.  However, most transitions have several core elements in common.  Fear.  Uncertainty.  Possibility.  There is incredible opportunity in transitions and there is also a lot of emotion.  And a lot of other stuff.  This can be a very noisy time.

No matter what your transition is, it is always important to be intentional.  We can choose how we go through transitions and we can use these critical turning points to grow and evolve and ensure we are layering our learning into our future self and future state.  And ensure we are living it all while we are here.

I am a big believer in feeling the feelings that need to be felt.  I think it’s awesome to embrace gratitude for the experiences you’ve had and try to stay positive about the future.  We should do that!  AND, there’s always some other real sh!t that needs to be felt.  Grief.  Anger.  Frustration.  Sadness.  And that’s okay too.  It may be tough at dinner parties, so maybe they’re not the place.  But, some place, some time, you’re going to need to feel it.  All of it.  And, when you do, you will accelerate the moving through, the learning and the harvesting of all the fruit that this time is bestowing.

I have worked coaching clients through these big, powerful moments and have developed a session focused on Transition & Moving Through to be that place and time.  At least a start.

Given everything that is happening in the world right now, my belief in what’s possible with mindfulness and empowerment and my desire to be of service, I am offering this session as a free virtual workshop on Saturday, October 21st at 9 a.m. Pacific as my gift to anyone interested in how a special container of dedicated space and energy might help them more intentionally and powerfully move through the transitions before them.  Whether seasonal or something more.

In some ways, we are always in transition.  Always moving through.  Join me in exploring what is here for you if you let it in.

The session lasts approximately two hours and consists of inspiration, reflection, visualization and journaling, with an opportunity to share in community for those who want to.

We will spend our time in three parts.  First, we will explore what you want to take away from the chapter that is coming to a close (whatever it may be) and what you want to leave behind.  Second, we will do a visualization to tap into grounding and wisdom.  And, third, is an exercise around integrating those things and, setting your intention for this next chapter and the chapters beyond that.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 21st at 9 a.m. Pacific and join me at this Zoom link then for my Some Days – Transition & Moving Through workshop.

I also encourage you to sign up for articles and updates at createsomedays.com (see bottom of the page to subscribe).

What transitions are you experiencing right now?
